Pain Management
All Pain is Real
Pain is a physical sensation generated by the brain and can limit our ability to live or perform the way we want. Pain may cause us to feel anxious, fearful, angry, disappointed, helpless, purposeless, frustrated, guilty, or shameful. These emotions can actually heighten the pain itself. Hypnosis, whether with the help of a therapist or self-directed, provides an opportunity for substantial relief. It ends the vicious pain loop. (I have suffered from chronic back pain and can attest to the value of hypnosis.)
Reshaping Pain
We develop your ability to reduce sudden acute pain and low-level chronic or recurring pain. Hypnohealing techniques include progressively dismantling and reshaping pain, deep relaxation, glove analgesia, parts therapy, plus addressing emotional or stress triggers and addressing any secondary gains from pain. We may have you practice self-hypnosis to continue your healing outside of our sessions.
Suffering is a Choice
Pain is inevitable, but suffering is a choice. It's natural to want to avoid pain, but pain is part of living and in some cases, pain is expected - consider childbirth, physical goal attainment, healing from illness, and medical procedures. You will detach from or dilute pain through techniques including post-hypnotic suggestions. We will also cover your lifestyle choices which impact your overall health.
